New Shopping Center: Legacy Place

Since I'm at the tail-end of my pregnancy, all I can think about is my post-pregnancy wardrobe.  And it's even easier to think about now that we have our tax returns done!  I'm totally loving the Garden Collection at H&M and Liberty of London at Target.  I like select pieces from others too, but these are two collections of which I would buy everything!  The problem is actually getting my hands on the pieces!  I've had some luck buying LoL at Target; not everything has sold out.  But I'm a lot more enticed by the home decor stuff than the clothing, so that has kept me a bit distracted. H&M is a different story.  Despite the fact that there is an H&M on Newbury *and* one in Downtown Crossing, I can't get myself into Boston at this point.  I'm too big, too tired, and still need to deal with Kira.  If I weren't pregnant, I would hit both locations in one day!  To my surprise, there is an H&M in Dedham at a relatively new shopping center call...

More Random Sayings

Kira has been saying more new things: 1. "nevermind" - I have no idea how she picked this one up.  But she says it more or less appropriately. 2. "because" - Kira finally realized that when someone asks her why...she needs to answer with because... 3. "me, I and you" - she is better at using these words at the right time.  For example: Kira - I want that blanket Vickie - You can get it yourself, it's not that far from you. Kira - No, you get it.

Just this week...

Random things that Kira is doing/saying now that she is 2 years + 2 months: 1. Asking what time it is and telling me that it's getting late.  She also sometimes tells me that it is "nine-six-oclock" or "nine-six-thirty" 2. Saying "Oh my God", which I always correct and tell her not to say.  She also says "sheesh" 3. Singing the hokey pokey

Two Recent Videos

Here are a couple videos taken in the last month.

Little Miss Bossy

Image
I'm always telling people how controlling Kira has become.  Well, I have the perfect story to illustrate exactly how bossy she can be!   For the first time today Kira sat in her car seat facing forward.  I've been meaning to turn her car seat around for a while now because it makes getting her in and out of the car easier, but just haven't had the chance to do it.  The doctor says she's old enough to handle an impact even if facing forward.  Younger kids handle impacts better if they are facing the rear of the car.  It's a physics thing.  Anyways, Trevor was using the car to transport a mattress, and had to remove her car seat and lower all the rear seats in order to fit the mattress.  Since the car seat was coming out and going back in, we finally changed its positioning. As we pulled out of our street, Kira exclaims, "Daddy are you driving?  Watch out for cars!".  Further down the road she says, "Daddy, you're driving fast!" and finally as ...

Boring Posts

Hi All - Sorry my posts have been so boring...just lists of things to do and things to remember. I guess it's all part of my nesting phase. I have a couple recent videos of Kira, so I'll try and post them at some point. Actually, what I should be doing is documenting all the little moments we have with just Kira and no other baby. In a few months, we will have forgotten it all. And it has been especially difficult for me to appreciate the time because all I can think about is what will happen when the baby comes. Let me see if I can jot down a couple... One daily "moment" I can think of that I always just soak in is the morning wake-up. Trevor has been a total champ in dealing with Kira in the morning. (I relinquished this job a while ago once I realized getting up too fast caused me to feel nauseated.) He takes her to the bathroom, puts a sweater on her and leads her to our bedroom. Once here, Kira plays with a few toys while Trevor washes up and I continue...
