Random End of Summer Stuff

Kira can say any single syllable word that you present. For example, yesterday I told her to get off a pile of boxes, otherwise she will fall, and she said "fall" for the first time. And, after dinner I told Trevor to close the sliding door, and she said, "close". I can't really keep up with her new words, and I don't think I should post every time she says something new because it seems as though she's just repeating and not necessarily understanding. Sometimes it's clear she understands, like with "fall" and "close", but sometimes we can't tell. We had dinner with relatives on Friday, and one of them showed a video of his new daughter crawling. Trevor and Kira watched the video together and Trevor said, "wow, she moves and she's fast!", and Kira said "moves! fast!", but we don't think she knows what they mean!

Surprisingly, she's starting to string words together! I say "surprisingly" because it always catches me and Trevor off guard. The doctor said she would be stringing words together, but it's always a shocker when we hear it! Here are some of her phrases:

- bye Yeh Yeh (paternal grandfather)
- whoa whoa (doggie) tickle feet
- fall bung bung (made-up word for hitting your head)
- nai nai (milk) done
- faan faan naht naht (rice is hot)
- TV broken, fix it

This weekend, we went to the DeCordova sculpture museum. It was fun! Kira walked around and was in awe of the huge sculptures. She also had fun touching them and running around them. Pictures to come.

This weekend we also decided that Trevor would spend more alone time with Kira. Sometimes when she's cranky, she refuses to go to Trevor and we both realize that this is normal, but it can't hurt for him to spend alone time with Kira. I don't think he has spent more that a few hours alone with Kira since she was born! But that will change. I'm looking forward to hearing funny stories between the two of them =)
