New Things (30 months, 3 months)
Here are some new things that Kira has been doing over the past couple months...
- Puzzles - she loves to sit down and put puzzle pieces together. I remember when I bought her first puzzle, after a couple days she understood the concept but got very frustrated putting 2 peices together. She would try to push slide two pieces on the floor together and that would never work. Then she started putting one on top of the other - but even that takes a little bit of dexterity. After a few weeks she was picking out pieces and connecting them by herself.
- Allows more help - she seems to have gotten past the phase where she wants to do everything herself. She accepts help more often which is great for getting things done faster. She used to want to get on the toilet herself, wipe herself, get the soap by herself, and wash her hands by herself. She would protest if I tried to help her...more recently she has not complained at all when helping her with these things
- Feeding - she no longer is fascinated with feeding herself. I think it has been many months since the last time she actually fed herself an entire meal. During meals she may pick at the food herself, but the majority of the food is fed to her by either me or Vickie
Renee is now over 3 months old, here are some new things:
- Lots of smiles - between 6-8 weeks old Renee started smiling whenever she makes eye contact. I think she smiles a lot more than Kira ever did
- Lots of baby talk - probably around 9 weeks old Renee began cooing and babbling - much more so than Kira ever did also. She does this when eye contact is made, and she does it in front of the mirror as well as her toys that have mirrors on them. Baby babbling makes my heart want to melt! That statement surprises me!
- Hands - Renee has discovered her hands. She puts them together and she puts them in her mouth
- Pacifier - Renee has finally taken to the pacifier. Its been a couple of weeks since this happened and it has really made putting her to bed at night much easier and more consistent.
- Fatter - fatter than ever before because I have less time to walk the poor dog :(
