Top 10 Cool Things About Kira
In no particular order:
1. Strong neck. She can hold her head up when I put her on her stomach! It's so exciting! She looks statuesque!
2. Grabbing. When Kira is on her playmat, she grabs at the hanging toys and clasps them in her little hands. Then she waves them around and makes herself laugh!
3. Standing. Kira loves to use her legs. When I hold her by her armpits, she stands straight up! And, she loves to kick when she's on her changing table. Sometimes that drives me crazy, but it's nice to see that she has strength!
4. Friendly. She is getting over her attachment phase. She no longer cries when other people hold her! It's great. Not only does she allow other people to hold her, she also interacts with them, and it's so cute!
5. Laughing. Kira laughs all the time now! And it is more consistent with specific stimuli. For example, she laughs when we tickle her, or she laughs when we laugh. It's so funny!
6. Less crying. Kira cries a lot less now. She used to cry when she was hungry, gassy, or wet. And she would cry when she woke up, and she would cry when we put her down to sleep. Now, she hardly cries at all! She just wimpers a bit.
7. Efficient nursing. She eats fast! After 10 minutes of nursing, she's done. It used to take me and hour to nurse her, burp her, and change her! Now, we're done in 20 minutes! It's nice because I'm still in sleepy mode and I go right back to sleep...and so does Kira.
8. Looking around. Kira is awake for more hours of the day now. When she's awake, I try to take her out and go for walks. It's so nice to see her little eyes looking around and wondering about everything. Her expressions are priceless!
9. More tolerance. She lets me do unpleasant things, like sucking snots out of her nose, and cutting her finger nails, with very little resistance.
10. Lots more talking. She has tones to her goo-goo-gah-gahs. I can tell when she's annoyed, when she wants to sing along, and when she is telling a story =) It's cute.
